Are you thinking about choosing Powershop as your electricity supplier?

Powershop has been ranked as Australia’s greenest power company by Greenpeace. They are backed by Meridian Energy, who own two GreenPower accredited wind farms in SA and VIC. Powershop currently supplies electricity to over 85,000 residential and business customers in NSW, VIC and south east QLD.

Powershop Energy Packs

Unlike many other energy suppliers, you can’t choose a Powershop energy plan. Instead, the focus is on energy packs. These are designed to give you more control over your energy. There are a few different options to choose from:

Top-up Packs

Top-up Packs are always available and can be used right away. If you use more energy than you predicted, you can buy a Top-up Pack to cover the excess energy.

Online Saver Packs

Online Saver Packs give you access to the best discounts on your energy that are available that day.

Future Packs

Buying a Future Pack is a way to stock up on electricity for the months head. For example, you can purchase it in advance for times when you know you will use more electricity and spread out your energy costs over the year.

Spot Specials

These offers are released fairly regularly and are usually more generous than the Online Saver Pack discounts but they are only available for a short time. If you have the Powershop app, you will usually receive push notifications on your smartphone to let you know when a new spot special is available.

Green Power Packs

If you want to do more for the environment, you can buy Green Power packs.

Solar Energy

Powershop supports solar energy for residential customers in NSW and VIC. They offer a base feed-in payment for solar customers, which is above the government recommended minimum.

Powershop Electricity Bills

If you want to be billed at a certain time every month rather than buy power packs, there is the option to do this. You can nominate a default payment card and choose a day of the month that it will be charged for paying your Powershop electricity bills.

If you prefer to have more control over when you pay for your energy, you can go to the online shop and buy power packs on your terms. This also give you access to discounts that are only available in the shop.

You can pay for power packs via a credit card (Mastercard, VISA and American Express are accepted), Direct Debit or Direct Deposit. There are no transaction fees, even for credit card payments. With the Powershop app, you can keep track of your energy usage and see how long you can expect your power to last before you need to buy another pack.

If you have not bought enough power to cover your usage, Powershop will buy a Top-up Pack for you using your preferred payment method. This means there is no risk that you will be cut off even if you have not bought any power packs in a particular month.
